Cleaning reptile Calcium sand?

I have ReptiLite calcium carbonate sand and need to know what's required to disinfect/sterilize it. I have already sifted it, but I do not want my leopard gecko to get sick from the previous leopard gecko (not sure if it was contagious or not, but not taking chances). Also, would I be able to reuse Bed-a-Beast if it's sterilized, as well? If so, how would I sterilize that?
