I just bought a tracfone and you can't use the usb to transfer stuff back and forth to you computer?!!?

I just bought a lg 800g which I love the phone but seriously you can't hook it up to your computer via the usb port and move wallpapers and your photos on and off you computer?! I read it on wikipidea that it won't let you is this true? and is straight talk the same way?! you can't use them like normal cellphones to communicate with your computer through usb?!
