Is home surgery illegal?

I am on probation for a non violent, white color crime. I recently discovered what feels like a very hard bump under the skin of my left arm. I don't have health insurance and blood doesn't bother me so i bought an exacto-knife from Michael's craft store, and some beer. I drank around 8 beers and took some benzodaizapines I had for reducing anxiety. I sterilized my arm, removed the large bump (about the size of a quarter), wrapped it up and went to bed. I woke up soaked in blood. It's bleeding pretty badly. I tried cauterizing it with a red hot knife but it still is bleeding significantly. I really don't want to get in trouble for this, If i got to the ER will i likely be charged with something?
