I have a Samsung Galaxy 550, but why can't i receive texts nor send them?

At first the phone did an amazing job it did everything, but after that it just stopped receiving texts and even didn't send them, i was really upset about it and i have no idea what i should do because its my only way of communicating in class. Thanks if you have any idea how can i fix it because google had no idea what i should do :DD
