Is it possible for an aquarium to NEVER get algae?

Without chemicals or whatever. Since the algae must come from somewhere, if everything is sterilized before the water gets put in, could it never get algae? It seems like it's impossible. No matter how clean the plants or fish or water are, it always seems to find its way into the tank. Is it abiogenesis? Or what?
