Big blister on my foot?

I know it may seem stupid to ask a question about my blister, but it's huge and it's really painful to walk on. I know I should wait for it to heal naturally but it just makes it agonizing just to walk. Is there anything I can do with it? Is it safe to get a sterilized needle and pop it? Or is there still risk of infection if I do that? Thanks :)
